Smith is a 6th generation Zephyrhills native whose family moved to the Zephyrhills area in 1837. Smith attended high school in Zephyrhills and then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Real Estate from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) in 1986.
Lance is married to Tammy, who graduated from USF with a nursing degree, and has three children, Chelsea, Amanda, and Jacob. All of Smith’s children graduated from Zephyrhills High School, and two have graduated from Florida universities with the third currently enrolled.
Lance holds an active real estate brokers license and in 2003 became a licensed contractor and formed a construction company. Smith has developed over 400 lots, constructed over 60 residential units, and built over 25,000 square feet of commercial space in the Zephyrhills area. Smith is currently self-employed and works in real estate development, construction and sales. Smith understands the many challenges facing small business owners.
