Zephyrhills Public Library (2022 Youth Summer Reading Programs)
In-person summer reading programs ("Oceans of Possibilities") will be held every Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM, starting June 8 through July 27th. These programs will be held in the Zephyrhills City Hall Council Chambers (5335 8th Street), and are all free and geared to school-age children (grades K-5) with their caregivers; the programs generally last about 45 minutes long. These programs will feature a special guest each week, including a musical instrument demo, puppet show, fire safety demo, Zephyrhills Police K-9, cooking demo, and more.
Besides in-person reading activities, the Library is offering a "Read to Win: Student Summer Reading Contest" to encourage reading over summer break. The Library's reading packets and logs are now available through the summer, with prizes on display for readers (grades K-12) to view. Participants will need to keep a log of the books they read in June and July, then turn the log into the Library during the last week of July (deadline: Saturday, July 30). Note: There will be a random drawing for prizes--and not based on how many books are read during that time; winners will be notified via phone or e-mail.
Also, the Library is continuing its "Take It and Make It" crafts for youth to pick up and make at home.
